Filmed over three years in Homs, Syria, “Return to Homs“ accompanies two outstanding young men, Basset and Ossama, from a time in which they dream of achieving freedom through non violent means, to a time when they are faced with different choices.
In a city on the verge of destruction, this is a modern epic of youth in war. It was awarded the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize for Documentary at this year’s Sundance FF, and Indiewire compares it to last year’s Oscar nominee, 5 Broken Cameras in its potential for social impact.
