In “Al Helm: Martin Luther King in Palestine,” an African American gospel choir is the Greek chorus for a Palestinian production of a U.S. play on Martin Luther King that tours the West Bank.  In the context of nonviolence, a personal and cultural exchange unfolds in which, over the course of the journey, American and Palestinian preconceived ideas about each other are radically transformed. Al Helm is Arabic for “The Dream.”
