Stories of Strength: First-Person Films by Community Activists showcases short digital films by Washingtonians looking back on their activism during the period 1963-1975 — “The Years That Shook and Shaped Washington,” in partnership with the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum, along with stories of Central American immigrants who rebuilt their lives with the help of Ayuda, a social-service organization. All digital films in collaboration with the students of Prof. Nina Shapiro-Perl’s Community Documentary course.
