The Center for Media & Social Impact is proud to partner with Docs In Progress on its new screening series, Docs In The City, which pairs seasoned and emerging documentary filmmakers whose films share a genre or theme.

The theme for this edition of Docs In Progress is “Coming of Age.”

Members of the D.C. and AU communities are invited to join us to learn and discuss what it means to “come of age” under the watchful eyes of cameras.

We invite you to participate in one or both films at the Malsi Doyle-Michael Forman Theater on the main campus of American University in the McKinley Building.

The first showing will be a work-in-progress screening of Stephanie Lucas and Josh Kasselman’s Unfinished Work.

Erica Ginsberg from Docs in Progress will lead a workshop-style audience session where everyone is invited to participate.

Unfinished Work screens at 1:00 pm.

The next showing will be followed by a new look at a classic film on a similar theme.
The Sundance award-winning, American Promise, will be followed by a conversation with filmmaker Michèle Stephenson.

American Promise screens at 2:30 pm.

Tickets are $10 for each screening individually or $15 for both films.
